ISSN 0001-5555 Sir, Porokeratosis (PK) is a heterogeneous group of hereditary or acquired disorders of keratinization with a broad clinical spectrum and various aetiologies. Common to all PK is the typical histological feature of a cornoid lamella, which corresponds to the hyperkeratotic rim of slowly centrifugal spreading lesions (1). Several subtypes of PK have been distinguished based on size, localization and number of lesions. However, porokeratosis of Mibelli (PKM) and disseminated superficial actinic porokeratosis (DSAP) are the most common clinically encountered subtypes.

Disseminated Superficial Actinic Porokeratosis in a Patient with Psoriasis, after Long-Term Narrowband Ultraviolet B Phototherapy

Porokeratosis is a rare epidermal disorder characterized by annular or linear hyperkeratotic plaques with slightly raised thread-like borders, and in most cases, atrophic centers. Disseminated superficial porokeratosis and disseminated superficial actinic porokeratosis (DSAP), which primarily involve sun-exposed areas, are common types of porokeratoses. Histologically, a column of parakeratotic...

Type 2 segmental manifestation of disseminated superficial actinic porokeratosis in a 7-year-old girl.

We report here a rare case of porokeratosis in which two different clinical types of porokeratosis (linear porokeratosis and disseminated superficial actinic porokeratosis) coexisted. A 7-year-old girl developed a centrifugal lesion on her left abdomen at the age of 2, disseminated superficial actinic porokeratosis on her face at the age of 3 after ultraviolet exposure, and linear porokeratosis...

Coexistence of linear porokeratosis and disseminated superficial actinic porokeratosis: a type 2 segmental manifestation.

Sir, Six main clinical forms of porokeratosis are recognized: classical porokeratosis or porokeratosis of Mibelli, punctate palmoplantar porokeratosis, linear porokeratosis (LP), disseminated superficial porokeratosis, disseminated superficial actinic porokeratosis (DSAP), and disseminated palmoplantar porokeratosis (1). The coexistence of more than one form in a single individual is infrequent...

It has several clinical forms including porokeratosis of Mibelli, giant porokeratosis, linear porokeratosis, disseminated superficial actinic porokeratosis, palmoplantar ...

A Case of Linear Porokeratosis Superimposed on Disseminated Superficial Actinic Porokeratosis

We present a female patient with linear porokeratosis of her right arm since childhood. At the age of 67 years she additionally developed disseminated superficial actinic porokeratosis (DSAP) involving both lower legs. This uncommon coexistence of two different types of porokeratosis fulfils the clinical criteria of a type 2 segmental manifestation of an autosomal dominant skin disorder, being ...
